Parents Guidelines & Discipline Policy

Childcare Guidelines for Parents

Welcome to Resolution Church’s Children’s Ministry. It is our desire to provide a safe and fun environment with sound biblical teaching for your child. Whether you have infants in our Nursery, little Toddlers, or young children; our mission is to love, nurture and facilitate the most excellent setting for your child while they are in our care.  We believe as we invest in our children today, great will be our reward in the men and women of tomorrow.  Currently, Resolution KIDS consists of three groups. First, we have our Nursery for infants, ages 0-2.  Second, we have a class for our 3-5 year olds.  And thirdly, we have our 6-12 year old class.  For further assistance please call Shawn Wheeler at (770) 652-0130.

We ask that you please adhere to the following guidelines for the safety and well being of your child and the other children in our care.

  1. We ask that you please escort your children to and from children’s church/nursery.
  2. As part of our safety procedures, we ask that you please check your child in and make sure you have received a numbered tag corresponding to the one on your child.  At the end of the service, you must present the numbered tag for the child to be released.
  3. Please note and tell the workers of any food allergies as we provide snacks.
  4. For Nursery and 2 yr olds: Bottles and drinks are encouraged as the church only has regular cups.  We also encourage parents to bring snacks if they are just starting to introduce foods to their infants.
  5. Because we want children in the children’s church/nursery to be involved and creatively playing, we have provided an array of fun learning activities.  We ask that you do not bring toys from home.
  6. If your child is ill, please keep him/her home.  We will not accept children with any of the following symptoms:
    1. Fever in the last 24 hours
    2. Heavy nasal discharge
    3. Constant or severe cough
    4. Rash or skin infection
    5. Eye infection or discharge
    6. Vomiting
    7. Diarrhea or upset stomach
    8. Excessive crankiness

8.   Our discipline policy begins with a promise of genuine respect for children’s needs and feelings. We explain rules clearly and repeat them on an ongoing basis.  As a result, we expect very few discipline problems.  Our discipline policy exists so that if there is a problem, it will be handled appropriately.  A child who has trouble getting along or who misuses equipment will be reminded of the rules and directed to another activity.  If necessary, a misbehaving child may be asked to sit out of an activity for a short period of time.  Children shall not be subjected to discipline that is severe, humiliating or frightening.   Discipline shall not be associated with food, drink, rest or toileting.  Spanking or any other form of physical or verbal punishment is prohibited.
